Railway Group D 2026 Overview

The Railway Group D 2026 Syllabus covers four subjects: General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Awareness & Current Affairs. The CBT has 100 questions worth 100 marks to be solved in 90 minutes.

General Science (25 Questions)

This section tests knowledge of Physics, Chemistry, and Life Sciences up to 10th standard NCERT level. Key topics include: Force and Motion, Work-Energy-Power, Sound and Light, Electricity and Magnetism, Acids-Bases-Salts, Metals-Non-metals, Carbon Compounds, Periodic Table, Cell Biology, Human Body Systems, Diseases, Nutrition, and Environment.

Mathematics (25 Questions)

Based on 10th standard level: Number System, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM-HCF, Ratio-Proportion, Percentage, Mensuration, Time-Speed-Distance, Time-Work, Simple-Compound Interest, Profit-Loss, Algebra (basics), Geometry, Trigonometry (basics), Statistics, Square Root, Ages, Calendar, Clock.

General Intelligence & Reasoning (30 Questions)

Analogies, Alphabetical & Number Series, Coding-Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Data Interpretation, Conclusions, Directions, Statement-Arguments, Decision Making, Maps, Graphs, Classification, Embedded Figures, Pattern Completion.

General Awareness & Current Affairs (20 Questions)

Current events (National & International), Indian Polity, History, Geography, Economy, Sports, Awards, Science & Technology, Important Schemes, Books & Authors, Organizations, Railway-specific knowledge.
