How to choose the right exam book
Always start with the official syllabus and previous-year question papers. Pick books that cover every topic on the syllabus and explain concepts with solved examples — not just question banks.
For each subject, one main concept book plus one practice book is usually enough. Avoid stacking 5–6 books on the same topic; it leads to confusion and slow revision.
How to study from a book effectively
Read each chapter actively — underline definitions, write short notes in the margin, and summarise the chapter in your own words. After every chapter, attempt the exercise without looking back.
Use a syllabus-first approach: mark topics you have completed, topics still pending, and topics you find difficult. Revisit difficult topics every 7–10 days so the concepts stay fresh.
How to combine books with previous-year papers and mocks
Read concepts from the book → solve topic-wise previous-year questions → take full-length mock tests. This three-step cycle is what high scorers in SSC CGL, IBPS PO, Railway NTPC and similar exams follow consistently.
Revision strategy in the last 30 days
Stop starting new books in the final month. Revise your own notes, the formula sheets you made, and at least 10 full-length mock tests. Spend the last week on weak areas and timing strategy, not on new topics.
