Role & Responsibilities

The selected candidate for the Scientist Gr.III (Vet.) position will be involved in critical functions related to the quality control and evaluation of biological products, specifically those with veterinary applications or implications for animal health and zoonotic diseases. Key responsibilities may include:

• Conducting laboratory tests and assays for the quality control of veterinary biologicals, vaccines, and related products.
• Developing and validating new testing methodologies and protocols in line with national and international standards.
• Participating in research activities aimed at improving the efficacy and safety of biological products.
• Maintaining detailed records of experiments, results, and observations.
• Collaborating with other scientific teams and regulatory bodies.
• Providing expert opinion and technical support on veterinary aspects of biological product evaluation.
• Ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and other relevant regulatory guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates aspiring to join NIB as Scientist Gr.III (Vet.) must meet the following essential and desirable qualifications:

• Educational Qualification: A Master's Degree (M.V.Sc) in one of the following specializations from a recognized University/Institution:
  • Veterinary Medicine
  • Veterinary Public Health
  • Veterinary Microbiology
  • Veterinary Pathology
  • Veterinary Epidemiology
• Desirable Qualification: A Master's Degree in Veterinary Science or a Diploma in Genetics will be an added advantage.
• Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of post-qualification experience is required. This experience should be specifically in Veterinary practice in the corresponding field of work and in Laboratory settings.
• Age Limit: The maximum age limit for applicants is 35 years as on the last date of online application. Age relaxation for reserved categories will be applicable as per Government of India rules.

Salary & Benefits

The position falls under Pay Matrix Level-10, with a salary range of Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500. In addition to the basic pay, the post also includes Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) for Veterinary personnel, along with other allowances and benefits as admissible to Central Government employees, such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), medical facilities, and provident fund contributions. This ensures a comprehensive and competitive compensation structure.
