Role & Responsibilities

The Medical Superintendent is a senior Group A administrative and clinical leadership position responsible for the overall management and smooth functioning of the hospital. Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing day-to-day hospital administration and operations
• Ensuring quality patient care services and maintaining hospital standards
• Coordinating between various clinical departments, nursing staff, and administrative units
• Implementing policies and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and AIIMS administration
• Managing hospital infrastructure, equipment procurement, and maintenance
• Supervising medical and paramedical staff performance and discipline
• Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, accreditation standards, and safety protocols
• Preparing and monitoring the hospital budget and resource allocation
• Liaising with government bodies, health authorities, and external stakeholders

Eligibility Criteria

This position is being filled on a deputation basis. Eligible candidates must be serving officers from Central Government, State Government, or other recognized institutions who meet the following general criteria:

• Must be a Group A officer with relevant experience in hospital administration or medical services
• Should be working in a position of equivalent or comparable pay level in their parent organization

Selection Process

The selection for the post of Medical Superintendent at AIIMS Guwahati on deputation basis will be carried out as follows:

• Scrutiny of applications received through proper channel from eligible candidates
• Evaluation of service records, ACRs/APARs, and relevant experience
• Interview or personal interaction by the Selection Committee, if required
• Final selection based on merit, suitability, and recommendations of the Screening/Selection Committee

Salary & Benefits

The selected candidate will be entitled to the following pay and benefits:

• Pay Level: Level 14 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC)
• Pay Scale: Rs 1,44,200 – Rs 2,18,200 per month
• Non-Practising Allowance (NPA): Applicable as per government norms
• Additional allowances such as HRA, TA, and other admissible benefits as per Central Government rules
• Medical facilities and other perquisites as applicable to Group A officers of the Central Government
