Role & Responsibilities

The Joint Textile Commissioner (Economics) is a senior Group 'A' Gazetted post under the Ministry of Textiles. The officer appointed to this position will be responsible for:

• Conducting economic analysis and research related to the textile industry in India.
• Advising the Ministry on policy matters pertaining to textile economics, trade, and commerce.
• Monitoring and evaluating the economic performance of various textile sub-sectors.
• Preparing reports, briefs, and policy documents for senior officials and the Government.
• Coordinating with industry stakeholders, trade bodies, and international organizations on economic matters.
• Assisting in the formulation and implementation of schemes and programmes for the development of the textile sector.
• Liaising with state governments, export promotion councils, and other relevant agencies.

This is a deputation-based appointment, and the selected officer will be posted in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Eligibility Criteria

Selection Process

• In addition to the basic pay, the officer will be entitled to allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and other admissible allowances as per Government of India rules.
