About the Organisation

Role & Responsibilities

The Director (MDU) at NWDA is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing the functions of the Management and Development Unit (MDU). Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising and coordinating the administrative and technical activities of the MDU division.
• Formulating and implementing policies related to water resource management and development projects.
• Liaising with central and state government departments, ministries, and other stakeholders on matters related to water development.
• Monitoring the progress of ongoing projects and ensuring timely completion within budgetary allocations.
• Preparing detailed reports, feasibility studies, and policy documents for senior management and government authorities.
• Guiding and mentoring junior officers and staff within the unit.
• Representing NWDA in inter-ministerial meetings, conferences, and technical committees as required.

Eligibility Criteria

This position is being filled on a deputation basis, which means it is open to eligible officers already serving in Central Government departments, State Government departments, or other recognized government organizations. The specific eligibility conditions are as follows:

• Mode of Recruitment: Deputation only. Direct applications from non-government employees will not be considered.
• Qualification: As per the deputation norms applicable to Level-12 posts in the Government of India. Candidates must be holding analogous posts on a regular basis in their parent cadre/department, or must have relevant experience in water resources, administration, or related fields as prescribed by NWDA.
• Age Limit: Not separately specified; standard deputation age norms of the Government of India shall apply (generally, the officer should not be more than 56 years of age as on the closing date of applications).
• Experience: Relevant experience in water resource management, project administration, or related government functions is desirable.

Selection Process

Salary & Benefits

The selected candidate will be entitled to the following pay and benefits as per Government of India rules:

• Pay Level: Level-12 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Pay Matrix.
• Pay Scale: ₹78,800 – ₹2,09,200 per month.
• Other Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, and other admissible allowances as per Central Government rules.
• Deputation Allowance: Applicable deputation (duty) allowance as per Government of India norms.
• Other Benefits: Medical facilities, leave entitlements, and other service benefits as applicable to Central Government employees on deputation.
