About the Organisation

The National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) is a premier technical support institution under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India. Established to strengthen the public health system across India, NHSRC provides technical assistance, capacity building, and knowledge management support to the National Health Mission (NHM) and various national health programs. NHSRC plays a critical role in shaping health policy, improving health systems, and supporting disease control initiatives across the country. Its work spans areas including health financing, human resources for health, quality improvement, and disease surveillance.

Role & Responsibilities

NHSRC is recruiting one Consultant (Lab) to work under the National Viral Hepatitis Control Program (NVHCP) on a contractual basis. The selected candidate will be expected to:

• Provide technical support for laboratory strengthening activities under the NVHCP.
• Coordinate with state and district-level health authorities to ensure quality laboratory services for Hepatitis B and C diagnosis and treatment.
• Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory operations.
• Monitor laboratory performance indicators and assist in quality assurance and quality control activities.
• Facilitate training and capacity building of laboratory personnel at various levels.
• Assist in procurement planning and supply chain management of laboratory reagents and consumables.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation related to laboratory activities under NVHCP.
• Liaise with national and international stakeholders, including WHO and other partner organizations, on laboratory-related matters.

Eligibility Criteria

Selection Process

The selection process for the Consultant (Lab) position at NHSRC will be based on the following stages:

Salary & Benefits

The selected Consultant (Lab) will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration as follows:

• Salary Range: ₹60,000 – ₹1,20,000 per month (consolidated, based on qualifications and experience)
• The position is on a contractual basis, with the possibility of extension based on performance and program requirements.
• The role is based in New Delhi, offering the opportunity to work closely with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and national health program teams.
• Candidates will gain significant exposure to national-level public health program management and policy implementation.
