Role & Responsibilities

Agniveervayu (Other Than Science Subjects) personnel will be integral to various support functions within the Indian Air Force. • Performing general duties in administrative, logistics, and ground support branches.
• Assisting in the maintenance of records and documentation.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates aspiring to join as Agniveervayu (Other Than Science Subjects) must meet the following criteria:

• Nationality: Must be an unmarried Indian Male or Female citizen.
• Age Limit: Candidates must be between 17.5 years and 21 years of age at the time of enrollment. Specific date ranges will be mentioned in the detailed official notification.
• Educational Qualification:
  • Passed 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR
  • Passed 3 years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation Technology/Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Diploma Course (if English is not a subject in Diploma Course) or in 10th/12th. OR
  • Passed 2 years Vocational course from Education Boards recognized by Central/State with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course (if English is not a subject in Vocational Course) or in 10th/12th.
• Medical Standards: Candidates must meet the prescribed medical standards as per IAF norms, including height, weight, chest measurements, and general physical and mental health.

Selection Process

The selection process for Agniveervayu (Other Than Science Subjects) Intake 02/2026 will be conducted through recruitment rallies at designated locations. The process typically involves several stages:

• Physical Fitness Test (PFT): This includes running (e.g., 1.6 km in 6 minutes 30 seconds for males, 8 minutes for females), push-ups, sit-ups, and squats to assess physical endurance.
• Written Test: An objective-type test covering English, Reasoning, and General Awareness (RAGA). Candidates must qualify in each section as well as in aggregate.
• Adaptability Test-I: Designed to assess a candidate's suitability for employment in the IAF, which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather, and operational conditions.
• Adaptability Test-II: Evaluates a candidate's ability to adapt to the military way of life and perform duties effectively.
• Medical Examination: A comprehensive medical check-up conducted by IAF medical teams to ensure candidates meet all required health standards.
• Provisional Select List (PSL) & Enrollment: Based on performance in all tests, a Provisional Select List will be published, followed by the final enrollment list.

Salary & Benefits

Agniveervayu personnel will receive an attractive customized monthly package during their four-year service period:

• 1st Year: ₹30,000 per month (₹21,000 in-hand, ₹9,000 to Agniveer Corpus Fund)
• 2nd Year: ₹33,000 per month (₹23,100 in-hand, ₹9,900 to Agniveer Corpus Fund)
• 3rd Year: ₹36,500 per month (₹25,550 in-hand, ₹10,950 to Agniveer Corpus Fund)
• 4th Year: ₹40,000 per month (₹28,000 in-hand, ₹12,000 to Agniveer Corpus Fund)

Upon completion of the four-year service, Agniveers will receive a 'Seva Nidhi' package of approximately ₹11.71 Lakhs, which includes their accumulated contributions and a matching contribution from the Government. Other benefits include a non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs, risk and hardship allowances, and 30 days of annual leave. A skill-set certificate will also be provided, and up to 25% of Agniveers may be selected for permanent enrollment in the Indian Air Force based on merit and organizational requirements.

Application process reference

Interested and eligible unmarried Indian Male and Female candidates are required to participate in the recruitment rallies directly. There might not be a separate online application process for rally-based recruitment, but candidates must ensure they are fully prepared with all necessary documents. Key steps include:
