Role & Responsibilities

The Senior Cyber Security Strategist & Advisor (IT and OT) will play a pivotal role in safeguarding HPCL's critical digital and operational infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing comprehensive cyber security strategies for both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
• Advising senior leadership on cyber risk management, threat intelligence, and security posture improvements.
• Overseeing the design and enforcement of security frameworks, policies, and standards aligned with national and international best practices (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443, ISO 27001).
• Leading incident response planning, cyber drills, and business continuity measures for critical energy infrastructure.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, legal, and compliance to embed security across all business processes.
• Monitoring emerging cyber threats specific to the oil & gas and energy sector and recommending proactive countermeasures.
• Engaging with government agencies, regulators, and industry bodies on cyber security matters relevant to critical infrastructure protection.
• Evaluating and managing third-party and vendor cyber security risks.
• Driving awareness programs and building internal cyber security capability across the organisation.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates interested in applying for the Senior Cyber Security Strategist & Advisor position at HPCL must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Qualification: A relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related engineering/technical discipline. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum 12 to 16 years of relevant experience in cyber security, with demonstrated expertise in both IT and OT security domains, preferably in the energy, oil & gas, or critical infrastructure sector.
• Age Limit: Candidates should be between 39 and 43 years of age as per the prescribed criteria. Age relaxation may be applicable as per HPCL norms.
• Skills: Deep knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS/SCADA), network security, vulnerability management, security operations, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
