Eligibility

For technical positions like Manager (Technical), candidates need a full-time engineering graduate degree with not less than 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical or Naval Architecture. Additionally, they require minimum 09 years post-qualification experience in design, construction, repairs, maintenance, operations, or machinery installation and commissioning of naval ships/submarines in government organizations, PSUs or private shipyards.

For managerial positions, the experience criteria vary based on whether the candidate is from government/PSU background or private sector. Government/PSU candidates need minimum 3 years in immediate lower grade while private sector candidates need CTC of Rs. 15 LPA or more in companies with Rs. 100 crore+ turnover.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit varies by position and is calculated as on 03 June 2026. For Manager (Technical) [E3] positions, the maximum age is 40 years, while for Manager (HR) [E3] it is 45 years.

Age relaxation is admissible for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates as per Government of India rules. Ex-servicemen get upper age relaxation by the number of years of service in armed forces. Internal permanent employees of HSL get an additional 5-year age relaxation and minimum experience in lower grade relaxed by 1 year.
