Vacancy Details

BSNL has announced a total of 100 provisional vacancies for the Junior Telecom Officer (Telecom) position distributed across 21 BSNL Circles. The vacancies are distributed with category-wise breakup as per Central Government guidelines for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Serviceman candidates.

The circle-wise distribution includes Karnataka (26 vacancies), Maharashtra (16 vacancies), Kerala (15 vacancies), Madhya Pradesh (10 vacancies), Odisha (6 vacancies), and other circles with fewer vacancies. JTO is a Circle Cadre post, and selected candidates will be allotted a Circle based on their preference, merit, and vacancies available. Candidates can give preferences for up to all 21 Circles to improve their chances of selection.

Eligibility

Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the closing date of application (03-07-2026). Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for these positions. The educational qualifications are specifically defined and must be from recognized institutions.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent from a Central Government or State Government recognized Institution/University in any of the following disciplines: Telecommunications, Electronics, Radio, Computer, Electrical, Information Technology (IT), or Instrumentation. Alternatively, candidates with M.Sc. (Electronics) or M.Sc. (Computer Science) are also eligible. Candidates possessing higher qualifications such as M.Tech in the prescribed disciplines are also eligible to apply.

Additionally, applicants must be capable of distinguishing principal colours and should have binocular vision. The qualification must have been completed from a University recognized under the UGC Act, 1956, as on the closing date of receipt of application.

Age Limit

The age limit for BSNL JTO recruitment is calculated as on 03 July 2026. Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years and not exceed 30 years as on this date for Unreserved/EWS/OBC (Creamy Layer) categories.

Age relaxation is provided as per Central Government guidelines: OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates get 3 years relaxation (maximum 33 years), SC/ST candidates get 5 years relaxation (maximum 35 years), and PwBD candidates get additional relaxation ranging from 10 to 15 years depending on their category. Ex-servicemen and BSNL employees also receive age relaxation as per established government norms.

Selection Process

The selection process for BSNL JTO recruitment consists of multiple stages designed to assess both technical knowledge and general aptitude. The primary selection criterion is performance in the Computer Based Test (CBT).

The selection will be based on a Computer Based Multiple Choice Objective Type Test (CBT) followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination.
