Role & Responsibilities

The Pharmacist Grade-I is a Group B post responsible for a wide range of pharmaceutical duties within the hospital and outpatient/inpatient pharmacy departments. Key responsibilities include:

• Dispensing medicines and pharmaceutical supplies to patients as per prescriptions issued by authorized medical officers.
• Maintaining accurate records of drug inventory, stock registers, and consumption reports.
• Ensuring proper storage of medicines, including temperature-sensitive and controlled substances.
• Assisting in procurement and quality control of pharmaceutical products.
• Coordinating with medical and nursing staff to ensure timely availability of medications.
• Adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines related to pharmacy operations.
• Participating in patient counseling regarding medication usage, dosage, and side effects.

Eligibility Criteria

This recruitment is on a deputation basis. Candidates currently serving in Central Government or State Government departments/organizations in analogous posts or in posts with relevant pharmaceutical experience are eligible to apply. The key eligibility conditions are:

• Employment Type: Deputation from Central/State Government departments or recognized institutions.
• Post: Candidates must be holding an analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre/department, or have relevant experience in pharmacy-related roles.
• Qualification: As per the standard norms applicable for Pharmacist Grade-I under the 7th CPC framework (specific qualifications to be confirmed from the official advertisement in Employment News).
• Age Limit: As per Government of India deputation norms (generally not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of application).

Selection Process

Since this is a deputation-based recruitment, the selection process differs from direct recruitment. The process typically involves:

Salary & Benefits

The selected candidate will be placed in Pay Matrix Level 6 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), with a pay range of Rs. 35,400 – Rs. 1,12,400 per month. In addition to the basic pay, the appointee will be entitled to:

• Dearness Allowance (DA) as applicable to Central Government employees.
• House Rent Allowance (HRA) based on the city classification of Changsari/Guwahati.
• Transport Allowance (TA) as per entitlement.
• Medical facilities under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) or equivalent.
• Leave Travel Concession (LTC) and other service benefits as per Central Government rules.
