Role & Responsibilities

The Librarian Grade I at AIIMS Guwahati will be responsible for managing and overseeing the library operations of the institute. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the acquisition, cataloguing, and classification of books, journals, and digital resources.
• Maintaining and developing the library collection in alignment with the academic and research needs of the institute.
• Supervising library staff and ensuring smooth day-to-day library operations.
• Implementing and managing library automation systems and digital library services.
• Assisting faculty, students, and researchers in accessing relevant academic and medical literature.
• Coordinating with national and international library networks for resource sharing.
• Maintaining records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
• Organizing orientation programs and training sessions for library users.

Eligibility Criteria

This recruitment is on a deputation basis. Candidates currently serving in Central Government, State Government, or other recognized institutions are eligible to apply. Selection Process

Since this is a deputation-based recruitment, the selection process will follow standard Government of India deputation norms. The process typically includes:

Salary & Benefits

The selected candidate will be entitled to the following pay and benefits as per Government of India rules:

• Pay Level: Level 7 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC)
• Pay Scale: Rs. 44,900 – Rs. 1,42,400 per month
• Additional allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA) as applicable under central government rules.
• Medical facilities and other perquisites as admissible to central government employees.
• Leave Travel Concession (LTC) and other service benefits as per GoI norms.
