Role & Responsibilities

The Assistant Accounts Officer at AIIMS Guwahati will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial and accounting operations of the institute. Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining accurate financial records and accounts of the institute
• Assisting in the preparation of budget estimates, revised estimates, and financial statements
• Ensuring compliance with government financial rules, GFR, and treasury regulations
• Processing bills, payments, and reimbursements in a timely manner
• Coordinating with internal and external audit teams and resolving audit queries
• Monitoring expenditure against sanctioned budgets and reporting discrepancies
• Handling matters related to GPF, NPS, salary disbursement, and other employee financial benefits
• Assisting senior accounts officers in financial planning and reporting

Eligibility Criteria

This recruitment is on a deputation basis. Candidates currently serving in Central Government or State Government departments or autonomous bodies are eligible to apply. The post is a Group B position. Applicants must be working in analogous posts or in posts with relevant accounts/finance experience as per the deputation norms prescribed by the Government of India. Specific qualification requirements should be verified from the official advertisement published in the Employment News. Age limit details are as per standard deputation guidelines applicable to central government employees.

Selection Process

Since this is a deputation-based recruitment, the selection process will follow standard government deputation procedures:

• Shortlisting based on suitability and experience in accounts/finance domain
• Final selection by a duly constituted Departmental Promotion/Selection Committee at AIIMS Guwahati

Salary & Benefits

The selected candidate will be placed at Level 7 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix, with a basic pay range of Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400 per month. In addition to the basic pay, the incumbent will be entitled to:

• Dearness Allowance (DA) as applicable to central government employees
• House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per the city classification of Changsari/Guwahati
• Transport Allowance (TA)
• Medical benefits under CGHS/AIIMS medical facilities
• Leave Travel Concession (LTC)
• Pension and retirement benefits as per central government rules
